M & M Test Tube Tutorial

This is my tutorial on the M & M Test Tube Treat Holder. These are used with the small test tubes that measure about 4 x 3/4 that you can find on the internet. Here is the poem I used.
As you hold these candies in your hand,
And turn them you will see.
The M becomes a W, An E, and then a 3
They tell the story of Christmas, It's one I'm sure you know.
It took place in a stable. A long, long, time ago.
The E is for the East, Where the star shone so bright.
The M is for Manger, Where baby Jesus slept that night.
The 3 is for Wise Men, Bearing gifts, they say they came.
W is for Worship, Hallelujah, Praise His Name.
So as you eat these candies, Or share them with a friend.
Remember the meaning of Christmas,
It's a love story that never ends.
I did NOT write this. I found it on the internet a long time ago.

You need a pieces of cardstock that measures 12 x 8 1/2, your paper
trimmer,

bone folder, and adhesive.

On the 12" side you're going to score at 2 1/2", 3 1/4",
7 5/8", 8 7/16"

On the 8 1/2" side you're going to score at 5/8", 1 3/8",
7 1/8", 7 7/8".

Now you're going to cut away the parts shown below.

Crease all your score lines.

You need to add adhesive to the small end flap.

Now your box is complete. Decorate and enjoy!

Box W/ Dividers for A2 Cards, Post-It-Notes & Misc.

Box With Dividers for Cards & Post-it-Notes

You need 5 pieces of cardstock. 10 1/2" x 9", 9
1/2" x 8", 10 1/2" x 6", 9" x 3", and 9 1/2" x 3
1/2" (Not Shown)

Score the 10 1/2" x 9" at 1 1/2" on all 4 sides.

Score the 9 1/2" x 8" at 1" on all 4 sides.

You need to cut the end score marks and then notch them out. This
makes your ends look nicer once they are all attached.

On your 9 1/2" x 8" you need to cut your end score marks in to
the score marks. Then your going to cut off and remove the bottom tabs. I notched these
also.

Back to the 10 1/2" x 9" piece you need to fold in and attach
the tabs.

Then using adhesive you need to attach the tabs to the inside of your
box.

Back to the 9 1/2" x 8 piece and fold in your score marks.

Attach your top tabs inside. This is making the lid to the box.

You need to add adhesive on the back of the long tab and it needs to be
attached to the inside of your bottom box.

Here is another picture of the lid attached to the bottom.

Now your box is complete. The lid should close over the bottom with no
problems.

Your complete box open.

You need your 9 1/2" x 3 1/2" piece. You need to score this
piece at 1" on both short sides and 1 long side.

Next you need to cut and notch this piece as shown.

You're going to attach this pocket piece to the lid of your box.

Now you need your 10 1/2" x 6" piece. You need to score this
piece at 4 1/2", 6", 7 1/2"

You're going to fold this piece into a "W" as shown. Add
adhesive an attach to make a divider for your bottom of your box.

Now you need your 9" x 3" piece. You need to score this piece
at 3", 4 1/2", 6" You need to fold and add adhesive as you did above.
(sorry for the double post in the picture)

This is how your dividers will go in the bottom of your box.

Now your box is complete.

On the left side of your box it will hold your A2 size cards and
envelopes.
I put a post-it-note in the top right and clips in the bottom right. I also added a jumbo
decorated paper clip on the pocket. You can decorate and use it however you'd like!

Small Gift Box Tutorial

You need a pieces of cardstock that measures 11 x 6 1/2.

On the 6 1/2" side you're going to score at 1", 2 1/2", 5
1/4", 6 3/4" & 9 1/2"

On the 11" side you're going to score both sides at 1 1/2".

Now you're going to cut away the parts shown below. The 1" score

line is at the bottom of the screen. You're going to cut up to the 2 1/2" score line

and remove that piece on both sides. On the opposite end you're going to cut out and

remove the center piece. I notch out my center flaps so they fold in better. At this time

I also used my crop-o-dile to punch holes in the two tabs at the top. You can also use
your

scallop punch on the other end.

You need to flip your box over and add adhesive as shown.

You need to fold the little tabs in and stick them to the piece with the
adhesive.

You want to make sure the flaps with the hole punched goes on the outside of the box.

Now you are ready to decorate.

Here are the measurements you need for your designer paper.

1 piece 2 1/2" x 3 1/4" (font)

2 pieces 2 1/2" x 1 1/4" (sides)

1 piece 3 1/4" x 1 1/4" (top)

1 piece 3/4" x 3 1/4" (front flap- scallop)

As you can see I pulled the flaps out and tied with a ribbon. You can
also just tuck these inside your box.

Here is another box just make with cardstock size 11" x 6"
using the same score lines.

Slider Box Tutorial

You need 2 pieces of cardstock. Cut the first one to 10 x 4 3/4,
the second piece to 9 x 5 and 7 x 2 3/4.

On the largest piece you're going to score on the 10" side at
1" on both sides.

Then on the 4 3/4" side you're going to score at 1", 6" and 7".

You're going to cut out the 1" piece on the 7" scored piece.
Then cut your slits as shown.

Then you're going to add your adhesive to the BACK SIDE and then fold
your tabs in.

This is what your first box should look like. Set this piece aside
and get your 9 x 5 piece.

You're going to score this along the 9" side at 1", 3
7/8" 4 7/8" and 7 3/4".

(The 7/8 inch is the little line between the 3/4" and 1".)

Wrap the box around itself and tape or glue it together. Should look like above.

Set this piece aside and get your 7 x 2 3/4" piece.

You're going to score this on the 7" side at 2 1/2, 3 1/2 and 4
1/2.

You're going to fold it in half then fold the other score lines the
opposite direction to form a "W".

You put your "W" piece into the bottom of your box and slide
the boxes together.

Stationary Purse Tutorial

Here are just some of the supplies you're going to need to complete this project.
3 pieces of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock, adhesive, paper trimmer, scallop punch, crop-o-dile.

Trim all 3 piece of your card stock to 6 x 11. Keep the strips you cut off.
You'll need these later.

You need to score 2 pieces of your 6 x 11 cardstock at
5 1/4" & 5 3/4".

Your last piece of 6 x 11 cardstock you need to score at 2 1/4", 3 1/2",
8 3/4" & 9 3/4"

This is where you need those left over strips. You're going to use 2 of those
are cut them to 2 1/2" x 7". Keep the scraps that you cut off here. You're going
to need those later too! Now back to your 1 1/2" x 7" pieces. You need to
score these on both short ends and one long end, at 1/2" and 1/4".

After you have those scored you will notice on the long ends that you have
4 little squares. You're going to cut those out. (see pic below) You can throw
those away. We won't be needing those.

Here is where you need the left over cuts from above.
The 2 pieces you have left from cutting the 2 strips (2 1/2" x 7") down should
measure 2 1/2 x 4.
Now take the other long left over strip (from beginning) and cut it to make
2 pieces of 2 1/2" x 4". The small piece is what you have left over.

Now using a scallop edge punch you need to punch the edges.

From the flat end you will need to score at 1 1/4" & 1 1/2" (DO NOT FOLLOW
PICTURES SCORE. I MESSED UP!)

You need to stack all 4 of your scalloped edge pieces and using your
crop-o-dile you need to punch a hole. I found the middle by counting
the scallops then punched just about the middle scallops.

Now you have all your pieces cut and you're ready to assemble them.

You need 1 piece of your 6 x 11 cardstock that you scored twice and the piece
that is scored 4 times. You are going to use your adhesive here to put these
two together.
Slide the 2 scored sheet (right) under the 4 scored sheet (left) up to the score line.
Make sure on the 4 scored sheet (left) that you're using the "short end" score lines.
The large score end is your flap.

Here you can see how it should look at this point.

This is how it looks opened all the way.

Now you're going to use your last sheet of 6" x 11" cardstock. Add your adhesive
all the way around the area shown. It will be after the second score line on the left
and to the third score line.

Make sure you add this piece where the fold is facing
in. You want the two flaps to face inward and fold out.

Here you can see how they should fold in.

You are going to need your 4 scallop edged pieces. You will need to open your
purse all the way up now. Add the adhesive as shown in the picture below.

I used my ruler and measured 3/4" from the top and 1/2" on the sides to
position my top scallop piece. Then 3/4" from the bottom and 1/2" on the
side to get the bottom piece.

This is how it should look when you get both on. You need to do this on both
sides of your purse. It will be on the pieces that fold out.

This is a picture of the purse folded backwards on itself so you could see
both sides finished.

You're looking at the middle of the purse. This is where you're going to attach
your remaining pieces.

You need to add the adhesive to both small ends and 1 long end that you scored.

You're going to add this piece just above the score line and make sure your
opening is face towards the middle of the purse.

Closer picture so you can get the idea.

Then you will need fold the side flaps in and adhere them down.

Here is one side done. Now you need to do the other side just the same.

Make sure the opening is facing in.

Here is what your purse looks like with the flaps folded over.

Here is it folded in too.

And here it is folded shut. I used a piece of velcro to keep it shut.

And a side view.

I put 4 A2 size cards and envelopes in the card pockets and then made some
3 x 3 cards for one scallop edge side and tags on the other scallop edge side.
I used small zip top bags for my 3x3 cards and tags then tied those shut with
some floss. This is my first tutorial like this so if you have any questions please

Busy...Busy...Busy...

Well sorry I haven't posted in awhile. We've been so busy lately. Just for a brief catch-up. We left for spring break and the day before we were to return we got a call from the police that our house was broke into. We came straight home to find only certain things missing and our dog gone. One week and 2 days later our dog returned and the next day the people who broke in were caught. WOO HOO!

I'm hoping to post more later...on working on my nieces babyshower that is tomorrow!

Well I Finally Did It....

I signed up with Stampin Up to be a demo. I'm really excited about it and can't wait to get my kit. I submitted my application and order on Sunday and it's still in the "submitted" catagory. *sigh* I'm not good with this waiting thing. We're going to be leaving for spring break soon and I'd really like to have my order here by then. *crosses my fingers*

New Cut Files

I just keep trying to do the whole blog thing and I keep coming up short. I sold my baby cricut a while back and just recently decided I can't stop my scrapbook obession so I purchased the Cricut Expression through the infomercial since I wanted that Potpourri Basket cart. Anyway, I put in my order on 12-29-08 and it'll be 10-15 days before they will even be shipping. I'm waiting now so I can play again. So keep checking back for more from me...I hope I can keep this up.

The picture is a wedding gift for my sister. I seen on the cricut message board how to make the picture on a candle so I had to try it. I like the way it turned out!

Cricut Design Studio Trial Version

I need to upload new pictures of my scrap space since I've added a big mirror in front of my desk. Maybe I'll do that next week.

Well I used to be a blogger and I kept forgetting to update the stupid thing but since I've started scrapbooking I thought I'd try again. Actually I should've said since I starting collecting scrapbooking items. I'm collecing a ton of items but I haven't scrapped a single thing. This is why I wanted to do the blog thing. Thinking that I might actually scrap something to show off. We'll see!
